Based on the vision and designs of Paulo Solari (cool name btw) Arcosanti is one of the coolest destinations in Arizona. About an hours drive north-west of Phoenix, its a must see of our desert state. Its free and interesting to watch them make the windbells; they cast them from molten brass in a main area where you an just sit and watch. Here's their main site: Arcosanti Main SitePost anything you want to here. Good? Bad? Ugly? Beautiful?

I would say its beauty. Makes me think of how the future will look like, a mixture of steel and wood. Its similar to standing in two different worlds each one unique and yet they compliment each other in a strange balance.

Yes, I've heard of Arcosanti before, but I didn't know where it was. I've been to their web site though, and from the pics it sounds like a cool place to visit. I understand their leader, their architect, was like a mad genius or something. Woody told me that its actually just a little bit north of Phoenix, so we might go up there sometime just to check it out. I'm interested in how they cast those wind bells. Something to put on the travel to-do list. Pretty inexpensive mini-vacation though, goodness knows we need to save our $$$. it might be nice to get out of the city and see something kinda artsy. Glad you put it up, mon Capitan. Something to think about.
